The Year in Review

At the start of another new year it is difficult not to reflect on the past year. 2008 was a remarkable year for The Global Poverty Project. It represented the transformation of an idea into a journey.

Where 2008 revolved around exploring opportunities, gaining support and forming the vision and process, 2009 represents the shift towards creation and ultimately catalyzing the movement to eradicate extreme poverty.

We have received support and interest from all corners of the globe. We have had leading experts sign on to support, endorse and advocate for the project. We are thrilled.

To name only a few of the experts that we are excited to have on board are:

  • Sakiko Fukada-Parr (Professor of International Affairs, The New School, Graduate Program in International Affairs)

  • Alan Court (Senior Advisor to the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy for Malaria)

  • Michael Wilson (ADG Asia Bilateral Branch AusAID)

  • Professor Hans Rosling (Professor of International Health at Karolinska Institute, Director Gapminder Foundation)
  • For regular updates on the project - sign-up to the newsletter on the main page.
